Wix Website Creator

      A few days ago in this class we made a website using the Wix website Creator. Overall I liked Wix much better than the Other Site like Google websites. It had  theme that was 100% customizable and the tools were very easy to use. I like how I could upload my own pictures from the internet with the easy of clicking  a few buttons. the only thing I disliked about this website creator is that it would glitch out and not let me save the changes I did. other that that I enjoyed working with Wix Website Creator.

Windows Movie Maker

        For the last topic in this class, we have decide to learn how to make a video using Windows Movie Maker. We then are supposed to tell how we liked using the program. I really like Windows Movie Maker. It is easy to rearrange the clips until it is in the right order. It is easy to add music and pictures that you have saved on your computer. Also it gives you an wide array of options for animations and visual effects. I can use my webcam to record videos of me in just a click of a button, and I can load videos saved on my computer very quickly and easily into the program. The only thing I did not like about this program is that I am very limited in the free music I can download. other than that one set back, Windows Movie Maker is a very good and reliable movie making program.

The Good, The Bad, and The Uses of Google Sites

   recently in class We have been working with Google sites, a free website creator. Our finishing product was a website called KCS Athletics. While Creating it I found things I liked about it other, not so much.

Likes
the most notable thing that I liked on Google sites was the simplicity of it. Most of the time I could Figure out how to insert items such as images and videos. even when I couldn't there was plenty of advise on line to teach me. Also with some searching you can put in some cool side bar gadgets I liked how the side bar helped me organized the site and gives it a more professional look. I could personalized the site with a wide array of colors and it has basic designs to use for those times when you are in a hurry and need to get something up fast.

Dislikes
Google sites is cool but I also disliked things on it. First the arrangement made me feel like I do not have that much power to do stuff compared to other sites and programs such as blogger, and Microsoft Word. also I found that the more advance stuff was  extremely complicated while the simple stuff was easy to add. I believe that the advanced and simple stuff should be easy to put in the site. Also the gadget screen was messed up, I could edit the gadget once on one screen then the screen would not allow me to do it again until I cancel. therefore if I get the settings wrong I have to go find that gadget again and try again at getting the settings right.

Uses in Daily Life
Google sites might not be my favorite website  creator but it has it uses in my daily life. For Example, I am the secretary of the Echota District Order of the Arrow Chapter, an honor society for scouts. I might be able to use Google sites to post dates of the Camps. also I can use sites to gather together information for a big paper instead of having to go to other websites. This system is not plagiarizing, it is just condescending the information into one website therefore saving RAM.

            In class we have been working with PowerPoint and Google Sides. I knew a lot about PowerPoint already, but I learned some cool actions I can do with my presentation. First I learned how to insert a video into the presentation using the Developer tab. Also I learned how to edit pictures, including putting borders around it and removing backgrounds. In PowerPoint they have this option for a blank slide, Because of this, I learned how to creativity create custom slides using the tools provided in the program. PowerPoint is a cool program, and I will use it again some time in my life. I could use  it when I present my senior theses four years from now. When using PowerPoint the possibility of what I can do are almost endless.

       Recently in  my Computer Apps class we have been looking at Word Processors. Though I am very experienced with Word I still learned things that I did not know I could do. For example, I have never done any advanced editing on pictures such as taking away the background or cutting the picture into certain shapes. I also experimented with in text citations which could be useful in the numerous APA papers I have to do. In my opinion, a Word Processor is probably one of the best tools you can have for almost anything.

      A blog in general can be very useful in every day life.  A Blog can be used to tell other people about the cool activity you are doing. Also it can be used to inform people about events. In creating the blog you can put so really useful gadgets  that you can't find elsewhere like the Unit Conversion Gadget.  Also with a few more gadgets you can go on a lighten the mood with a few new jokes. Overall a blog is a great thing to have and to work with

        A few weeks ago The whole high school went onto a retreat at Hillbrook Christian camp. At the Retreat each class had to make a skit which we preform  Friday night. Throughout the retreat a Black Dog, who had followed me and a group of boys on the way back from a four mile run on Friday morning, was wandering around camp begging for food. Overall I, even as one of those annoying Freshman, had fun. I am looking forward to next years retreat so that I can pick on the Freshman and have a chance to get the Spirit Stick.

        The blog you are currently reading is a more professional  looking blog. It is more professional looking because its mostly black and all the colors and gadget matches.  It has a matching background, a void of black with a red static line through the center. The darkness of the blog draws attention to the text within the post. The post itself is well write and there is no technical errors like misspellings. This blog is much more professional looking than my bad blog.

          My Bad Blog is the worst blog out there, no questions asked. When you start it up, you first notice the background which is very distracting. The colors of the post and gadgets themselves do not match at all and distract the reader from the content. Not that the content is any better, because there are different colors and fonts for almost everything. Some of the words are badly misspelled; the gadgets are terrible as well. The Sprinter gadget at the bottom starts playing this really annoying song. The green and black fish in yellow water do not match with anything in the blog and are distracting. Overall, the Bad Blog is distracting and makes my eyes burn.
